TIL of Moving Day in Quebec. Because of a previous law, the vast majority of leases in Quebec end on or around July 1. In July 2004, approximately 120,000 households moved, corresponding to 4% of the population. Moving companies work around the clock, with charges often being 3x normal rates.

They used to do that in New York City too, I think it was May 1st at 9am. I think it ended in the 1940’s there mostly due to in WW2 there weren’t enough able bodied men to do the moving.
I believe it’s the same in some US cities.
