The movie *Breach* (2007) is about how Hanssen was caught. It’s very good.
I worked with and knew one of his relatives, she never talked about him, it was extremely shameful for the family.

Well, he did find the mole.
What motivates someone to do this? Is it just the money or do they do it for the thrill? Or is it done for ideological reasons?
Because at best you can disappear to the country who you are truly working for, but your life will never be normal again.
He pretended to be the perfect model citizen, and yet — he was committing treason at the highest level.
Hansen is now locked up in the Florence Super-Max Prison with zero chance of ever betting let out again. He’s now been locked up for 20 years (age 77).
