  1. Gave the first pair to Steve Prefontaine – one of the greatest distance runners of his time.

    The guy was a machine and having running shoes with treads like that helped him level up his abilities.

  2. The wording of the title is a little whacky. Saying it was designed literally by its inventor is goofy. Maybe rephrasing as “was designed by its inventor, Bill Bowerman, literally pouring rubber”
