TIL Project X was going to have a sequel called Project XX, with Warner Bros. even announcing Project XX’s release date (Aug 19, 2016). However, Warner Brothers never released further details and instead quietly skipped the release date.

My guess is that they found it hard to realistically top X.
It has a scene where a psychopathic drug dealer burns a house and several cars with a flamethrower; how do you beat that, drop a nuke on the main characters’ campus or what?
Might have been all the copy cat parties with people getting injured…
Came here thinking this was about the1986 film with Matthew Broderick. I was wondering how they would do a sequel to it and why do it so many years later. I guess I have another film to watch now.
They realised the next sequel would be xxx and thats not the kinda market they want.
