  1. I always get a little sad thinking about Ray Combs because the network did him so dirty. Combs was a fine host, but the network bought way too much into Family Feud fever. There was an hour and a half of Family Feud content airing daily 5 days a week and people inevitably got tired of it. It also adds insult to injury by replacing the new guy with the old guy, and Combs most likely took it personally, because how else would you take that?

Although the Family Feud debacle probably wasn’t the definitive reason he killed himself, it was almost certainly the biggest catalyst. Rest in peace.

  2. He was clearly unhappy about that but he also had financial problems, his comedy clubs went under, he was separated from his wife and had been suicidal. Ray Combs had a lot of issues in his life that led him to commit suicide.

  3. Comedians often have low self-esteem and suffer from depression. I wonder if that contributed to his mental state and his eventual suicide.

Sad story. I liked him as the host of Family Feud.
