TIL Solipsism is the philosophical idea that only one’s mind is sure to exist. As an epistemological position, solipsism holds that knowledge of anything outside one’s own mind is unsure; the external world and other minds cannot be known and might not exist outside the mind.

  1. Yeah, solipsism is an interesting one. I can see the appeal, as a philosophical theory, but it’s really hard to maintain in practice.

    EDIT: I just had a look around the modern world. Solipsism is *not* so hard to maintain in practice.
