TIL that before 1950 Chickens were largely grown by Farming Wives as a sideline, and Americans ate no more than 6 birds per year per person. Post 1950, chicken farming became industrialized. Now the average American household eats Chicken 3-4 times a week for a total of 30 birds per year per person.
