TIL that between 1983 and 2004, NBC ran 2 hours of comedy programming every Thursday night, known as “Must See TV”. The lineup included some of the most iconic comedies of all time, such as Frasier, Seinfeld, Friends, and Will & Grace. They placed 1st almost every week. They now rank 4th.

  1. Another fun little tidbit – perhaps one of thr famous one of these blocks was the November 3rd, 1994 set of episodes. All 4 shows in the lineup focused their storylines around a power outage in New York (except for Seinfeld, which refused to participate, instead making George eat an eclair from the garbage). In the mid-90s, Must See TV shows were almost all set in New York and enabled a bunch of crossovers.
