TIL that following the Fall of Saigon in 1975 up to a million South Vietnamese were imprisoned in re-education camps without trials. Prison sentences averaged 3 to 10 years, and it’s estimated 1 in 3 South Vietnamese had a family member in the camp system.

Still beat the hell out of being a POW in a PAVN camp. At least these reeducation camps weren’t torturing people.
