TIL That Hugh Glass, the main character of The Revenant, was a real person who was, in fact, mauled by a bear and then left for dead. He managed to live to tell the tale, and forgave the two men who had left him to die.

I thought Hugh glass searched for one of the men that wronged him for quiet a few years but Hugh was killed by native Americans before he got the chance. The guy who wronged him went to the army and once that happened Hugh glass gave up because killing a person in the military back then had some strong consequences.
