TIL that in the 1920s, canned turtle soup was considered a delicacy in England and turtle riding was a major draw card in the 50s

I would personally love to ride some turtles
Think it was a long time after it was discovered that turtles made it back to the UK. It tasted so good that it was one of the first things eaten on the return voyage. Seem to also remember going to Key West where turtles were fished to practically extinction too. So must taste pretty good?
