TIL that Inspiration4, the first all-civilian orbital spaceflight, will orbit the Earth at an altitude of 590km. They’ll be the farthest humans have been in space in the 21st Century, narrowly beating out STS-125 crew (Hubble Servicing Mission) who were at 578km.

  1. The shuttle has been as high as 620 km, or 385 miles, but those happened in the 20th century. Of course a 1/2 century ago, NASA sent 9 different manned missions to the moon. An achievement yet to be matched.
