  1. Insurance policies sometimes don’t cover correlated risks like this. For example, a lot of home insurance doesn’t cover damages caused by floods (like real floods, that is, not if your pipes burst and flood the house) because the insurance company would probably go bankrupt having to pay out all the policies when a flood wipes out a town. I’d imagine that’s what’s going on here — if you’ve got to pay out one policy for a nuclear disaster, you’re probably paying out a lot of policies.

  2. So pretty much the victims of Chynobel, Nagasaki and Hiroshima were fucked, its about time that we make it so, insurance is stupid, it should cover everything, even the things that are highly unlikely to happen
