TIL that on U.S. military uniforms, the flag on the right shoulder is reversed to give the effect of a flag blowing in the breeze as the service member moves forward, adhering to the regulation that the star field always faces forward.

Backwards flags on right shoulders are one of those practically universal pet peeves of veterans everywhere. Even the Boy Scouts wear the flag incorrectly.
