TIL that Puerto Rico isn’t a country, it’s actually US territory. Puerto Ricans have been US citizens since 1917 and can move freely between the island and the mainland.

And they’ve voted to become an official state but congress won’t let them bc that means they’d have to be represented and add senators/house reps and it will shift the numbers.

Glad you brought that up but I do find it amazing at this point that so many do not know or want to know this, especially when something like a hurricane happens and Puerto Ricans desperately need help from “their” government.
