TIL that several Hershey’s products such as Whatchamacallit, Mr. Goodbar and Krackel no longer contain milk chocolate after replacing cocoa butter with vegetable oil. The removal of cocoa butter violates the FDA’s definition of milk chocolate and are now labeled “chocolate candy” or “chocolatey.”

    Wow, so they actually wanted to be able to use the term “chocolate” to describe oil and artificial flavoring? Listen, you can make whatever you want, but don’t try to pretend that a fake is the real deal.
