TIL that the electricity-generating ‘dynamos’ on bikes are actually called magnetos because they output alternating current.

TIL as well, I guess I always figured these were just a DC motor being used as a generator.
I hated those things, it was like you were always climbing a hill. And no light when you stopped.
AC/DC called and confirmed that was news to them…
Basically the breaks on all hybrid and electric cars.
