TIL that the James Bond Movies “The Spy Who Loved Me” and “Moonraker” strayed so far from Ian Fleming’s novels that Eon Productions authorized the screenwriter for both, Christopher Wood, to write novelizations based upon the films, rather than promote the original novels.

None of the movies feel like the books at all.
The Spy Who Loved Me is about a woman who works at a motel, told from her point of view, and a spy who shows up at the motel.
The Spy Who Loved Me had Barbara Bach in it. She’s still by far the prettiest Bond girl to me. She was gorgeous.
Credit to u/Occamsyoyo in the r/GenX thread on movie novelizations for pointing this out.
