TIL that the Japanese word ‘Subaru’ translates as ‘The Seven Sisters’ or ‘Pleiades’, which is a seven star cluster next to the constellation Taurus, and is why the Subaru logo is made up of stars.

For the first 20ish of years of my life I thought Subaru was an Australian brand and would argue with anyone who said otherwise. No idea why, it was just a hill I was going to die on.
