TIL that Tony Iommi guitarist for Black Sabbath used melted down Soap to create prosthetic fingertips after two of them got chopped off while he was working in a factory.

Melted down washing up liquid bottle tops.
Ive heard that thats why he was able to play the way he did. Wasnt their one other artist who had the same thing but used thimbals for their fingertips.
He’s also used strips of leather to add texture for better grip
