  1. Just because a lot of people are going to ask: Yes, I did hear about this from that new episode of Atlanta. I’d never seen the show but a friend of mine showed me this episode. Didn’t really seem like my kind of thing- Very well directed I just felt uncomfortable with the dark subject matter- But I became interested in the case after he told me it was based on a very true story. Obviously they took quite a few liberties with their version of it, but some elements are retold and recreated perfectly.

The one that really stuck out to me was [this](https://i.imgur.com/osAg1nz.jpg) photo. The couple that adopted the children attempted to pass this off as some kind of weird solidarity thing, but I think knowing the context it’s a lot more reasonable to assume the child had very different reasons to be in tears. Personally I think he was scared to tell the police officer what was happening, or maybe didn’t think the officer would help for whatever reason. It’s absolutely heartbreaking either way, and not for the reasons it was presented as when this photograph was first widely publicized.
