TIL that Wind Turbines have recently been inspired by the bumps on a Humpback Whales flippers. These bumps allow a smaller number of blades and a smaller, more energy-efficient motor to move the same amount of air as a larger turbine.

  1. I wish there was some way to create wind turbines with Dyson fan technology. They even sell those fans at the dollar tree. Looks like a circle and bladeless, you can stick your hand right through the center where the blades would be expected…. No injuries!
