TIL the 1987 Remembrance Day bombing in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland which killed 10 civilians including elderly attendees was met with such condemnation the IRA apologised for the attack, disbanded the unit responsible and admitted it had made a mistake.

Seriously, that was their excuse.
Admitted it made a mistake and didn’t deny it for decades and decades……. some militaries around the world could learn a thing or 2 from them
Mordern military command could learn from this example.
