TIL the Big Mac was created to compete with the Big Boy. Its two prior names before its current name was created by a 21-year-old advertising secretary, Esther Glickstein Rose. First was the Aristocrat, dropped as it was hard to pronounce, then the Blue Ribbon Burger. McDonald’s settled on Big Mac.
