TIL the difference between news agencies (Reuters/AP) and news organizations (Fox/CNN). Agencies report and unbiasedly summarize news which organizations then buy and spin for their own audiences. So, if you want free, factual and unbiased reporting, you can just read reporting from an agency.

  1. Yep and then the orgs will claim the agencies are biased toward the other side because their original report didn’t contain the spin later applied.

  2. I for one couldn’t believe this. I have repeatedly said I would pay $500/yr for a totally unbiased purely fact-based reporting source so I’d know exactly how things are without spin. You could imagine my surprise once I found out it already exists 🤣🤣🤣.

    Learning this also made me realize that much MORE how insane news organizations are. They literally exist to repackage news and spoon feed it to their own audience and create echo chambers on both sides. What do they do other than buy news someone else reported on and spin it? It’s insanity.
