TIL the executioner of pirate Klaus Störtebeker was reportedly asked by the Senate of Hamburg whether he was tired after executing 30 men. He replied that he had enough energy to execute the entirety of the senate too…so the senate executed him for death threats.

    This quote was reportedly spoken after the headless corpse of Klaus rose from the dead, and the executioner then tripped him over.

    Chances are that the headless corpse didn’t rise from the dead and walk around. However, the executioner probably did say something like this at some point.
