TIL the Grand tack hypothesis proposes that Jupiter formed at 3.5 AU (1AU=93million miles), then migrated inward to 1.5 AU, before reversing course due to capturing Saturn in an orbital resonance, eventually halting near its current orbit.

I saw some video not too long ago about how the planets will continue to rearrange their orbits over millions of years.
I had always thought that things would stay pretty much as they are, but apparently that’s not true at all.
You’re ‘that’ type student where I’d always sit next to during tests.
I want to see the math. Not because I’ll understand any of it. I just think it would look cool on a giant chalkboard.
It was such a simple explanation when I was younger- the solar wind blew the gas clouds off the nearer planets, ensuring that gas giants would have to be farther out in a stellar system.
