TIL the guitar Kurt Russell smashed in The Hateful Eight (2015) was not a prop and in fact a 1870s antique on loan from the Martin Guitar Museum. Russell was unaware the guitar was supposed to be switched for the scene and Jennifer Jason Leigh’s reaction in the scene is genuine.
