  1. Also, the fact that the half-man, half-horse *centaur* and the half-man, half-bull *minotaur* have a common suffix (taur) is a coincidence.

    Centaur either means “piercing bull” or “bull slayer” and is reputedly in reference to their skill as archers; Minotaur means “Minos’s bull,” in reference to King Minos of Crete, who ordered the construction of the labyrinth which housed the Minotaur.
