TIL the original Ninja Turtles comic was full of references to Daredevil: they got their powers after a blind man was hit by a truck carrying radioactive ooze (just like in DD), their main enemy clan was The Foot (in DD it’s The Hand), and their sensei was Splinter (like DD’s mentor: Stick).

Worth the read if you get the chance. The original Turtles were more like real teenagers, drinking beer and sneaking into porn theaters. Some of them even had pretty steady girlfriends in later issues.
