Well, since I have every Star Trek thing that’s ever been made right here on hard drives, I could theoretically spend one entire month watching them…
I heard when Nicholas Meyer got the gig to direct Wrath of Khan, he’d never even seen the show before, so he sat down and watched all 79 episodes.
He concluded that the focus was the Kirk/Spock/McCoy relationship and that a naval motif would go ever well. A Space Seed sequel with Khan was already picked for subject material. The rest is history.
