  1. My grandfather worked on WPA projects. I think the hoover dam and the California aqueduct. I can’t remember exactly. But this program basically ended the great depression, although most would say WW2 did that. But I would argue otherwise. Americorps was supposed to be something like WPA. No idea what became of it, but it didn’t amount to much. We need something similar to WPA right about now.
