TIL there is a little known island in New York City called Hart Island that has been used as a burial ground for poor or unidentified people for decades, and in 2012 Hurricane Sandy’s heavy storm surge tore at its shore revealing hundreds of human bones.

Fun fact: New York has a bunch of tiny island around the city. My favorite is Brother Island where Typhoid Mary was once housed.

Bobby Driscoll, former Disney child star and voice of Peter Pan is buried there after he was found dead in an abandoned building in 1968.
