TIL: When a company is hacked, all the data that is leaked is now considered public domain in the US. This includes private information about YOU that would be illegal to publish otherwise. Other companies will download, analyze, make use of, and sell this information.

Companies that get hacked should be forced to pay restitution to those whose data was stolen.
Analyze my data, daddy.
There’s a good chance your name, address, how much money you make, who you voted for, and your relatives, are all listed somewhere on a website. And people can pay to see that information. Just Google your whole name if you want to see.
Kinda makes you wonder if some of the hacks are from other companies or from the same company getting “hacked” due to some back door deal
