  1. Giving paracetamol and ibuprofen to children. In the UK the advice changes so often I always have to Google it when my kids are sick. First it was alternate them but make sure it’s 4 hours apart. Then it changed to say a slight overlap was fine, so paracetamol at 9am and if that doesn’t work then ibuprofen at 11am. Now it’s changed depending on the symptom you’re treating, so it’s sometimes ok to give both but sometimes it’s not recommended in case it masks serious symptoms.

It’s exhausting keeping up with it and really makes you doubt your memory of the rules each time.

It doesn’t help that the NHS is a disjointed group of trusts and national groups who seem to leave outdated information on their various websites so Google often brings up a heap of official NHS sources that sort of contradict each other.

  2. Something to think about: the science may not have changed, but the circumstances might have.

Worth thinking about before shitting on “science” and going to watch your megachurch pastor preach or take your homeopathy pills.
